This was one of the few commissions from Factory Records which came with a request – please use the new photo of Vini big on the front cover. Of course 8vo had other plans. The job was eventually pulled just before it went on press – Vini happened to see a set of proofs in Factory’s Manchester office and insisted on a redesign (by others). Some years later, the 8vo design made a reappearance in a multi-set CD release of Durutti Column albums by London Records. 8vo’s approach to designing an album release included adapting the typographic information system to suit each format, in this case Vinyl, CD, MC and DAT.
